Samsung Experience 9.0 upgrade with Android Oreo

Samsung Experience 9.0 brings you Android Oreo, with exciting new features from Samsung and Google based on feedback from users like you.

We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe during the upgrade.
Some apps, including Samsung Internet, Samsung Pay, Samsung Notes, and Email, should be updated individually before you can update your OS.

Here’s what’s new.

Quick Panel
- Manage notifications for each app with notification categories (supported apps only).
- Icons will be shown at the bottom of the notification panel for notifications that aren't currently visible.

Home Screen
- Touch and hold an app to display shortcuts to common or recommended tasks within the app (supported apps only).
- Notification badges on app icons and in the notification panel are synced. Clear a notification in one location, and it will show as cleared in the other location.

Samsung Keyboard
- The Samsung keyboard toolbar gives quick access to useful functions.
- GIF keyboard lets you send GIFs using Samsung keyboard.
- More high-contrast keyboards are available.

System Performance
- Background services are limited to improve performance and battery life.

Samsung Cloud
- View and manage photos in Samsung Cloud.
- Select specific items to delete or restore from your backups.
- See how big each backup is and how many items it contains.

Samsung Dual Messenger
- Install a second copy of a messaging app so you can use two accounts at the same time. For apps that verify accounts using phone numbers, you'll need a different phone number for each account.
- Go to Settings → Advanced features → Dual Messenger to install the second account.

Other improvements
- In Video, auto-repeat and 2x speed are added.
- Clock offers Landscape mode and timer sound options.
- The user settings of easy mode may be removed on new OS, please reset them after OS upgrade.
- Weather widget version update, and it will cause the weather widget disappear from idle. So please drag the weather widget to idle after you update your OS.
- Baidu search wigdet is replaced by Baidu App.
- OneNote app will not be supported from this version.
- Myknox will not be supproted from this version, but you can download and install Secure Foler by Settings → Lock screen and security → Secure Folder

How to flash firmware

1. Extract (unzip) the SM-G5520_CHC_G5520ZCU1CRJ4......G5520ZCU1CRJ4.zip file. using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
2. Download Odin Tool 3.14.1
3. Extract Odin and open it.
4. Reboot Samsung Phone in Download Mode (hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons / hold Volume Down + Bixby buttons then plug-in cable)
5. Connect you Samsung Phone and wait until you get a BLUE sign in Odin.
6. Add the 1 file Samsung firmware to AP/PDA or 4 files Samsung firmware (AP/BL/CP/CSC) to it's slots.
7. Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
8. Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN sign. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.
